Our program focuses on helping middle school students who may be struggling with math by preparing them for the upcoming school year and building their confidence along the way. Through 5 week summer classes and monthly tutoring sessions, we reinforce foundational concepts that are essential for their success during the school year.
Students can learn how classroom concepts connect to real situations by joining us at local farmer's markets. At our stand, we sell homemade Indian treats including sugar-free date and nut rolls, ricotta cheese barfis, and mint refreshers.
The funds from our market sales help provide learning materials and achievement rewards for our students. Additionally, we've contributed over $1,000 to support an annual music workshop in Mangalore, India which makes musical education more accessible to underprivileged students.
Market2Math was founded by Ananya Chakravarthi in 2020. We transformed traditional math tutoring into an engaging learning experience where students apply mathematical concepts while developing entrepreneurial experience at local farmer's markets. The program has been recognized with an Honor of Service from Lucas Mayor Dusty Kuykendall in August of 2024.
